Bow School Students Celebrate A Level Success and World Ready Futures

Students and staff at Bow School are celebrating another highly successful year of Sixth Form outcomes, with students securing strong results across both academic and vocational pathways and progressing to an impressive and diverse range of university courses, apprenticeships and employment destinations, showcasing the breadth of their ambitions and talents.

This year’s results continue a positive three-year trend for the Sixth Form and reflect the resilience, determination and hard work of students, alongside the unwavering support and dedication of staff and families who have guided them throughout their studies.

Particularly pleasing is the fact that the 2025/26 cohort achieved these outcomes despite entering Bow Sixth Form with a significantly lower prior attainment profile than previous year groups. Students entered with an average GCSE APS of 5.4, compared with 5.9 for the previous cohort, making their achievements even more impressive. They have pushed themselves and their peers to new heights as a collective and they have raised the bar for what excellence looks like within our community.

The cohort has also achieved notable success, with Nafisah securing a place at The University of Oxford to study English, a remarkable achievement that reflects years of dedication and academic excellence. Her success, including an impressive A in Philosophy, A in English and B in Politics, highlights the ambition and potential of Bow School students.

Other success stories include:

Raahil who achieved an exceptional A in Politics, A in History and C in English Literature, securing his place at the University of Sheffield to study Law.
Ishaq who attained an outstanding set of A grades in Maths, Further Maths and Physics, securing a place at King’s College London to study General Engineering.
Yusuf and Nasim who both achieved an incredible D*DD in Business and secured places at Queen Mary University of London to study Business Management.
Dua achieving D*DD in Applied Science and is now taking the next step towards a career in policing through a degree apprenticeship.
Aadam obtained A in Maths, B in Further Maths and B in Physics, and is now progressing to King’s College London to study Engineering.

This year’s outcomes demonstrate the school’s commitment to ensuring every student achieves their potential and progresses successfully to their chosen destination. Highlights include:

100% of students achieved Level 3 qualifications.
100% of students successfully completed their programmes of study.
100% of students secured at least one pass grade.
100% of students achieved three A Level or equivalent qualifications at grades A*-E.
Nearly three-quarters of students achieved at least one A*-B grade.
Almost two-thirds of students achieved three strong A Level passes at grades A*-C.
Applied qualification outcomes improved for the third consecutive year, with students achieving an average profile equivalent to DDD.

Several subjects delivered particularly strong outcomes this year:

Economics continued its impressive upward trajectory and remains one of the school’s highest-performing A Level subjects, with 61% of students achieving A*-A grades and 100% securing A*-C grades.
Mathematics saw significant improvement, with 79% of students achieving A*-C grades and strong progress in overall attainment.
Biology delivered one of the most encouraging success stories, with 86% of students achieving A*-C grades, representing a substantial improvement on previous years.
Chemistry maintained the significant gains made over recent years and continues to perform strongly across all grade measures.
Physics recorded notable improvements, with 75% of students achieving A*-C grades, more than doubling outcomes compared with three years ago.
English Literature saw 100% of students achieving A*-B grades of which 25% achieved A*-A.
Government & Politics continued its strong upward trend, with 100% of students securing A*-C grades.

These results reflect determination, resilience and a genuine commitment to excellence from a remarkable group of young people. What makes these outcomes particularly special is not only the grades achieved, but the journeys behind them. Every student has successfully completed their programme of study and secured meaningful qualifications that will enable them to progress confidently to the next stage of their education, training or employment. They have embraced everything our Sixth Form has to offer, developing the skills, experiences and confidence needed to succeed beyond school.”
